Suprising Springsteen

Oh man, yesterday night. "Baby we are born to run!" When we finally found our seats I was bouncing off the walls. Suddenly, the lights dimmed and people started cheering and chanting "Bruuuce!" I joined in and was ready to be transformed. Several minutes later, the lights dimmed again and came on again. Bruce Springsteen and the E Street band hopped on stage. I went wild. Then, he shouted out, "Denverrr, I'm so glad to be in the Mile High city tonight!" I went crazy once again. Yes Dad, you were right. He played "Meet Me in the City" first. Springsteen's still got that awesome voice and upbeat movement. Later, the song I was waiting for started. "I got a wife and kids in Baltimore Jack, I went out for a ride and I never went back..." I sang along to every song and cheered like a maniac. The concert went on a while but, we left a bit early. I am so glad that I went and yes, it did change my life.

  1. Your blog made me teary also, sugar. I remember so clearly your father's knocking on my door and asking me if he could play something for me. For a long time I kept telling him that I really didn't care for this guy Springsteen, but he was very patient; and soon I began loving Springsteen almost as much as he did. It was a great thrill going to the first Springsteen concert with him, and I'm sure that going with you would have been equally special. Nevertheless, your Blog made me feel as if I was there. We are a very special family, I think.
