Let me start off by saying that it wasn't as fun as I thought... no pillow fights and staying up until midnight... (lights out was 9:30 anyway). But, it still was pretty exciting and a valuable and great amount of time.
When we got up there, there was something called the bench circle. We all sat around it while the instructor explained all the guidelines and expectations. Once the instructor was finished, he read off our cabins and cabin mates. I was with: Maddie, Varshini, Elizabeth, Gabbie (some of my friends); and of course myself.
During the day, we would get served breakfast, lunch and, dinner.
Then we would go out for our "Learning Groups" (Which were not the same as our cabin groups). During that time, we would hike, one day my group and I went on a 7 hour hike... that was long and beginning to get painful considering our counselor didn't let us stop unless it was a water break or lunchtime.
Then after a long day, we would have something called "B.O.B Time". Which meant "Body on Bunk" or as my counselor called it, "Butt on Bunk". After B.O.B Time, we would have dinner and then lights out.
Last but not least, "Tick Talk". When you are up in the mountains, you can get little bugs that will latch on to you usually in the woods, and will suck your blood. I fortunately only had 1 tick.
Overall, Calwood was a very enjoyable experience and if I had the opportunity to do it again, I would.
